It&#39;s much easier to grasp if you can see it moving in real life, and have someone help you with the motions your first time. There are also great videos on http://www.knittinghelp.com/ - if you can&#39;t find someone to teach you, or get stuck when you&#39;re alone, they would be a great reference.<br /><br />Best of luck! That quilt is just beautiful!! My mom is making Gretchen a quilt, too, but it's more neutral because she started it before our US and she was hoping for a boy, I think. My other girls have quilts, too... DD1 has one my step-mom (at the time, they are now divorced) made, which is neutral in yellow & green and DD2 has a raggedy Anne and Andy one that she got when she was in the NICU (they have ladies who make them for the babies there). Winter Wonders was a swap thing that a bunch of girls (all my age and semi-newlyweds (I'm the one married the longest)) did a swap organized by one girl. They started it last summer - Summer Swap? I think it was, and then did Awesome Autumn, then Winter Wonders. She'll likely do one for the spring, too.
